Privacy Policy

This policy reflects the actual current implementation of agecalculatorkit.com: local age calculations, Google Analytics 4, Google Fonts, Cloudflare hosting, and reserved ad slots. We do not promise anything we do not implement.

Summary

Age calculations run locally in your browser using JavaScript. Your date of birth and reference dates are not sent to our servers, not stored in a database, and not shared. You can use every calculator without an account. Separately, we use Google Analytics 4 (GA4, measurement ID G-QFP5JZ8LMC) and Google Fonts which do involve network requests and cookies as described below.

Information you provide

  • Calculator inputs: Dates you enter in the Age Calculator, Birthday Calculator and Date Difference Calculator are processed locally on your device. They remain in memory and in your address bar only if you choose to share a URL with ?dob=YYYY-MM-DD&ref=YYYY-MM-DD parameters. Our servers do not receive these dates as part of the normal calculator flow.
  • Contact & email: If you email us at hello@agecalculatorkit.com or vipulotari1718@gmail.com or via the contact page, we receive the name, email address, subject and message you provide so we can reply. Either inbox is monitored daily. Do not send sensitive personal, financial or health data you do not want to share.

Information collected automatically

Our host Cloudflare (Pages / Workers Assets) and Google services may log basic technical data to operate the site securely:

  • IP address, browser type, device type, operating system
  • Pages visited, time on page, referrer, approximate location derived from IP
  • Standard server and edge logs retained for a short period for security, abuse prevention and debugging

We do not use server logs to identify you personally beyond what is needed to serve and secure the site.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and local storage for two purposes:

  1. Essential / functional: Cloudflare may set security and load-balancing cookies (e.g., __cf_bm, cf_clearance) and the site uses localStorage keys agecalc:age-calculator, agecalc:birthday, agecalc:date-diff and theme to remember your last dates and light/dark preference locally on your device.
  2. Analytics: Google Analytics 4 sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_<container-id> to distinguish users and measure page views, events and approximate geography. See “Analytics” below.
  3. Advertising (future): If Google AdSense is approved and deployed, Google and its partners may set advertising cookies (e.g., IDE, DSID) to show and measure ads. The site currently only reserves layout space for ads via a placeholder component to avoid layout shift — the AdSense script is not yet loaded.

You can control cookies in your browser settings: block, delete or allow only first-party cookies. Blocking analytics cookies will not break the calculators, but may affect Cloudflare security cookies. Where required by law (e.g., EEA/UK), we will present a consent banner before setting non-essential cookies and respect your choice.

Analytics — Google Analytics 4

This site uses Google Analytics 4 provided by Google LLC. The tag loaded is https://www.googletagmanager.com/gtag/js?id=G-QFP5JZ8LMC with gtag('config','G-QFP5JZ8LMC') on every page. GA4 collects:

  • Page URL, title, referrer, language, screen resolution
  • Approximate location, device, browser, interaction events (e.g., Calculate Age clicks are not sent individually, but page_view events are)
  • Parameters are associated with a pseudonymous GA cookie ID, not with your name or the dates you entered

Data is processed by Google on its servers, including outside your country, under Google’s Privacy Policy and How Google uses data when you use our partners’ sites. We use IP anonymization features where available and do not combine GA data with your calculator dates. You can opt out via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, your browser’s cookie settings, or the consent controls we provide where required.

Advertising and Google AdSense

The site is designed to be ad-free for usability, but reserves stable layout space (e.g., “Advertisement — Home below calculator”) via a lightweight placeholder to prevent cumulative layout shift if ads are added. No AdSense script is loaded in the current production build.

If Google AdSense is approved and enabled:

  • Google (as a third-party vendor) will use cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie, to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites.
  • You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings and aboutads.info.
  • We will update this policy to name Google as a provider, link to Google’s advertising policies, and provide EEA/UK consent controls via a CMP where legally required.
  • Ads will never be placed inside form controls, on top of calculator results, or where they mimic buttons or navigation — clear separation required by Google Publisher Policies is enforced.

We do not guarantee AdSense approval; the site remains fully useful without ads.

Third-party services

  • Google Fonts: Inter and JetBrains Mono are loaded from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. Font requests include your IP and user agent and are governed by Google’s privacy policy. No personal calculator data is sent with font requests.
  • Cloudflare Pages / Workers: Hosts the static assets at agecalculatorkit.com. Previews on *.pages.dev are tagged X-Robots-Tag: noindex in _headers. Cloudflare may process technical data per its privacy policy.
  • No other third-party scripts are loaded for calculations — all math runs locally via src/utils/age.ts.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information and do not share calculator dates with anyone. We share limited technical data only with service providers needed to operate the site (Cloudflare for hosting, Google for analytics/fonts, and email delivery for contact replies) under appropriate safeguards, or when required by law.

Data retention

  • Calculator dates: not retained server-side; only in your browser memory, optional URL parameters, and localStorage keys noted above (clearable via Reset or browser data deletion).
  • GA4 data: retained per our GA4 data retention setting (default 14 months) then automatically deleted or anonymized by Google.
  • Contact messages: retained as needed to reply and for a reasonable follow-up period (typically up to 12 months), then deleted or anonymized.
  • Server / edge logs: kept for a short operational window (days to weeks) then rotated. _headers caching for /_astro/* is public, max-age=31536000, immutable.

Your choices and rights

  • Use the calculators without providing any contact information.
  • Clear this site’s localStorage (Reset buttons or DevTools → Application → Local Storage) and delete URL parameters from your address bar.
  • Block or delete cookies in your browser; use the GA opt-out add-on; respond to the consent banner where presented (EEA/UK).
  • Request access, correction or deletion of messages you sent by emailing hello@agecalculatorkit.com or vipulotari1718@gmail.com with the subject “Privacy request”. Please allow 2–3 business days.
  • Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have additional rights (e.g., GDPR access/erasure/object, CCPA/CPRA). We honor those rights per applicable law.

Children’s privacy

The site is general-audience and not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child provided us personal information, contact us to request deletion.

International transfers

If you access the site from outside the hosting region (US/EU edge presence via Cloudflare), your technical data may be processed in the region where the host and Google operate, potentially outside the EEA/UK. We rely on standard safeguards where required.

Changes

We may update this policy when we add or change services (e.g., enabling AdSense, adjusting GA4 config, or adding a consent management platform). We will change the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice on the site. The authoritative version is always at /privacy-policy/.
